Writing for Charity, preggo style

I love all the plot summaries! Here's one more, a one sentence sum-up of one of the greatest novels of all time:

A white trash girl gets impregnated by her own father but accuses a black man, and the defense attorney's daughter dresses up as a ham.

When submitting a finished manuscript to a publisher or trying to sell an unwritten book, one-page plot summaries are required. Having a full page instead of one sentence doesn't make them any better. Oh, how I despise writing plot summaries for my books. If I could say what it's about in any fewer than 300 or so pages, I would! Some people rock at summaries. I fail.

The Writing for Charity silent auction continues. My item is up, but only available to those attending the day workshop. If you pre-register, you get one virtual raffle ticket for each day in advance, and then they'll raffle it off at the event. If you can't attend the event, I'm going to offer a second chance up for auction. I'll let you know when that one is available for bid. [UPDATE: NOW AVAILABLE!] Once again, if you win the bid, I will write up a detailed, glowing account on my blog about how you are my best friend and all the many ways you've saved my life. Other cool stuff you can bid on if you're not attending: lunch with Brandon Mull (Fablehaven), have a murder victim named after you in an upcoming book by Dan Wells, etc.

Once again, I will be attending the Evening Extravaganza this Saturday. James Dashner and I will co-mc, and I'm going to have to track down a wheelchair somewhere so he can wheel me around. I can't stand or sit upright for very long anymore. I probably spend 20 hours a day lying on my side. (Is this fun? This is not fun. If babies are not cute enough, there will be a reckoning.) This will be my last public appearance for a long, long time. Please come! We've arranged to buy books at huge discount, so your $10 ticket will buy 3-5 books for kids, most of whom have never owned their own book before. A family pass at $25 will help us buy 10-14 books. Registration for the day workshop on Saturday buys a book for every kid in a school class! Pay at the door, or use Google Checkout on the site.
