Austenland Casting
Fantasy casting
Always fun to think about, "What if my book became a movie?" Here's my stab at casting it, though I could change my mind at any moment. Of course this is absolute fantasy. Can't imagine most of these people would take these rolls, but one can dream.
- Jane Hayes - Minnie Driver (love her, funny and classy and real)--other thoughts: Maggie Gyllenhaal, Amanda Peet
- Aunt Saffronia - Sophie Thomspon (amazing character actress)
- Miss Heartwright - Emma Thompson or Glenn Close (both too fab for words)
- Miss Charming - Jennifer Coolidge (she absolutely slays me in Best in Show)
- Mrs. Wattlesbrook - Jennifer Saunders (fabulous half of French and Saunders)
- Mr. Nobley - I can't cast this one. I tried but I simply can't. The obvious choice is impossible and knowing that makes me weep, weep...
- Colonel Andrews - Joseph Fiennes (yes, please)
- Martin - my husband suggested "Wolverine," and I have to agree that Hugh Jackman would be very nice
- Sir John Templeton - Jim Broadbent
- George East - Tom Welling comes to mind, still thinking...
